Spend money to save money - part 12

Preventative maintenance is a way to spend money to save money in the long run.  Getting in to see the dentist for a cleaning and a exam is a way to treat things when they are small and inexpensive so that you can avoid big pain and a large expense later on.  Having your furnace inspected once a year can be a cheep way to keep it running and working longer.  Taking your automobile into the mechanic so that he can spot possible problems is a way to keep you safe, on the road, and prevent future expensive payouts.  Try to anticipate areas of wear and tear and do what you can to keep them working longer.  With a little planning you can head off unexpected, large expenses.
