Keep your eye out for gift cards that have a larger face value than what they are sold for.  For instance, you may only have to pay $15 to get a $20 gift card.  There are places  offering discounted iTunes, retail, and restaurant gift cards.  Usually this is a way to draw new customers but it can also be a way to generate general excitement.  If you are planning to frequent that establishment anyway, trying to find a discounted gift card can be a way to spend money to save money.
